WORLD Libraries Day will be celebrated in the courtyard of the Torrevieja Municipal Library “Carmen Jalón” next Friday, October 23, at 6pm.

The afternoon will be dedicated to children with the adaptation of three works by Lope de Rueda and the appointment of the Library’s Honorary Member.
Now, more than ever, the library is at the service of culture and entertainment.
As mentioned, World Libraries Day celebrated in Torrieveja will highlight Lope de Rueda (Seville 1510 – Córdoba 1565), who was one of the first professional Spanish actors.
In addition, he was a highly versatile playwright who wrote comedies, farces, and passages. He is considered the precursor of the Golden Age of Theatre in Spain.
Thankfully, the event looks likely to go ahead in person with other similar events having to go virtual due to coronavirus.
Everyone that attends will be able to enjoy this cultural event with all the Covid-19 safety measures in place, with mandatory masks will have to worn at all times.
To attend you will need to call and reserve your place via phone on: 965703168.
