Much loved Benidorm Palace announces its temporary closure

Much loved Benidorm Palace announces its devastating temporary closure due to the increasing restrictions being rolled out across Spain.

On Thursday, October 22, Benidorm Palace announced that it will be closing its doors until the current situation with regards to coronavirus restrictions improves.

The announcement will come as a shock but unfortunately not a surprise due to the ever-increasing restriction facing the hospitality sector.

In their announcement to Facebook, Benidorm Palace wrote, “Dear customers, We are very sorry to have to give this news, because every day more municipalities with mobility restrictions and this is added to the forecast of the state of alarm to impose curfew, we are forced to close the doors until the situation is improving. See you soon!!!”

Benidorm Palace announcement

The wonderful owners, Chrissie and Vincente, are much loved, and their exceptional venue is an excellent staple on the Benidorm hospitality scene.

Chrissie was self-isolating when her beloved Benidorm Palace was closed on Friday, March 13 in the initial wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Spain and it is such devastating news to hear that it will have to close once again.

In their 30-years of business, Benidorm Palace has never been closed to the public until this year and the previous closure was gut wrenching and full of emotional anguish for the couple.

The backbone of Benidorm, it was a delight for all to see them reopen on Friday, August 7, with a wonderful support from the community as a celebration that it returned to business and this a very sad night to hear that the doors have had to close for a second time this year.

Euro Weekly News can only hope for a speedy return to business for Benidorm Palace and look forward to seeing them revive bigger and better than ever before.

It’s not adios but hasta luego!
