Mercadona beats Government by reducing price of face masks

AFTER being told by the European Union that contrary to what it has stated publicly, the Spanish Government is now thinking about reducing VAT on face masks but a supermarket group has taken action on its own.

The Mercadona supermarket chain has announced that its 1,600 stores in Spain will reduce the price of its packs of 10 non reusable adult masks under the Deliplus range from €5 to €3 which is a 40 per cent reduction.

Children are not ignored as their packs of 10 are also reduced but in this case from €4.50 to €3.
