King of Thailand rushed to hospital amid coronavirus fears

KING of Thailand was rushed to hospital after one of his bodyguards tested positive for coronavirus.

Thailand’s monarch King Vajiralongkorn was rushed to a Bangkok hospital in a secret 2am visit amid coronavirus fears after one of his security personnel tested positive.

Vajiralongkorn was treated in the Thai capital before leaving the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday 21.

The newspaper – which has broken many stories about the Thai king who spends much of his time in Germany – says that one of Vajiralongkorn’s bodyguards lately contracted the coronavirus after the imperial entourage flew back to Thailand.

It is claimed that nobody on the king’s staff went into quarantine when the bodyguard tested positive. This includes the King’s wife, Queen Suthida, and his son and heir presumptive, 15-year-old Prince Dipangkorn.

Vajiralongkorn succeeded to the throne in 2016 after the death of his father, King Bhumibol, who had reigned since 1946.

Just days before the coronation, the King married his long-term consort and gave her the title Queen Suthida.
