Breaking News – Scientists in the UK call for national ‘circuit breaker’

Breaking News – Scientists in the UK call for national ‘circuit breaker’ until at least March 2021.

IN a leaked SAGE document scientists said on Wednesday, October 28, that the country is at a ‘critical stage’ and that up to 85,000 people could die in a second coronavirus wave. The ‘worst case’ scenario claimed nearly one million people in England are currently infected.

The Spectator reported that Sage presented their analysis to government ministers, warning that the second wave will be deadlier than the first if drastic action isn’t taken now, recommending a national lockdown until March 2021.

The latest official study, released last night, was conducted by Imperial College London researchers and based on random swab testing of 86,000 across England between October 16 and 25.

Lead author of the study, Professor Paul Elliott said: “Everything has got worse in every region.”

He added: “We are at a critical period in the second wave. There was a period when the rate of rise was decreasing and we were hopeful that the policies that have been implemented were turning the rates down.

“But what we see this time is an increase in the rate of rise and not only a high prevalence in the north, but rapidly increasing prevalence in the south.”
