Spain sees record number of Covid-19 infections in 24 hours

Spain has reported a record 23,580 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

THE Ministry of Health also announced there have been 173 deaths.

In the last seven days there 790 patients have died from coronavirus-related deaths – another weekly record.

These figures bring the tally of positives to 1,160,083 and deaths to 35,639 since the pandemic began.

The release of the data comes as PM Pedro Sanchez secured a six-month extension of the State of Alarm until May 9.
