Uber driver sexually assaulted woman passenger

AN UBER driver sexually assaulted a female passenger after friends asked him to ‘get her home safe’

Mark Taylor, an Uber driver in Arizona, was called to a house party in Old Town Scottsdale to collect a female passenger. According to Fox 10, the woman had to be carried from the party because she was drunk. A pal gave Mr Taylor the woman’s address and asked him to get her home safe.

However, when the friend checked his Uber app a few minutes later he saw that the cab had pulled in by a nearby canal, and rushed to the scene. There he found Mr Taylor lying on top of the victim, both of them with their trousers down.

Mr Taylor was reported to Scottsdale Police who took him into custody.

There he admitted he “made a mistake”, court documents claim.

He has been charged with one count of sexual assault and another count of kidnapping.

A spokesperson for Uber said: “What’s been reported is sickening and our thoughts are with the rider during this difficult time.

“We immediately deactivated the driver and stand ready to work with law enforcement.”

Mr Taylor is due to appear in court on November 2.
