Lottery player finds winning million dollar scratchcard while cleaning

A lottery player found winning million-dollar scratchcard while cleaning his home.

James Kinder, 38, of Jacksonville, told Florida Lottery officials he bought his The Fastest Road to $1,000,000 (€860,000) scratch-off ticket at a Circle K store in his hometown and placed it on his fireplace.

And there it remained for weeks, unscratched.

Kinder said he came across it while tidying up, adding”when I scratched it, I realised it was actually a $1 million winner! I wish I would have found it sooner”.

In accordance with American lottery rules, he had a choice on how to take his winnings, and he opted for the lump sum option, taking home $790,000 (€676,500).

The Circle K shop was given a bonus of $2,000 (€1,710) for selling the jackpot scratchcard.
