TEEN who ’killed grandma before sexually assaulting her’ arrested after decade-long manhunt

Adam Durborow, now 29, was arrested on October 10 after a decade-long manhunt for the alleged murder and sexual assault of Sherry Black, 64, in her book shop in Salt Lake City, Utah in November 2012.

Ms Black was found partially clothed in her book shop B&W Billiards and Books just days after Thanksgiving, having died from blunt force trauma and sharp wounds to her body, medical examiners reported.

Now, after almost a decade, new DNA techniques led to the capture of the suspect in her death. Durborow made his first court appearance on Wednesday, October 28, charged with Ms Black’s murder and accused of sexually assaulting her after her death.

The suspect has a long criminal history and was charged with the attempted rape of a child under the age of 14 back in 2006.

In 2012, Ms Black’s son-in-law paid tribute to her saying: “She was a 64-year-old lady, unarmed, without an enemy in the world.

“Everybody loved her, and someone came in and brutally murdered her.”

The 29-year-old is due back in court to answer the charges on November 2.
