TODDLER hit in the face by firework which set her house on fire

A two-year-old girl was injured after a firework which was thrown into her garden hit her in the face. The toddler was standing at a patio door in her back garden with her parents when an unidentified person threw the firework over a fence. It struck the girl in the face, causing a burn, before setting the patio curtains alight.

Police said the incident occurred at a house in Rockfield Heights in Newry, Northern Ireland, on Saturday, October 31.

Police have launched a hunt for those responsible, BelfastLive reports.

A spokesman said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a two year old child was injured by a firework thrown into the garden of her home in Rockfield Heights, Newry yesterday evening, Saturday 31 October.

“The little girl was standing on the back doorstep with her parents at around 8.15pm when the firework was thrown over the fence and struck her on her face causing a large burn. The firework then exploded and set alight the curtains on the patio doors, which were open. The child’s coat was also burned,” the spokesman said.
