Close scoring for Pego Golf Society

THIRTY-ONE Pego Golf Society members and two guests turned out recently on a very windy morning at Oliva Nova golf club.
There were three “twos” from Nigel Siddall, Barry Carter and Donna Green. Nearest-the-pin-in-two on Hole Five went to Malcolm Wise, his second shot finishing 2.3 metres from the pin, while on Hole 16, nearest-the-pin went to Danny Herron with his tee shot finishing 3.92 metres from the pin.
The scoring was quite close with three people in the first division having 34 points, so countback came into play.
Clear winner of the first division was Susie Snelling with 37 points but the second division was also close, with only three points separating third from first, with Fiona Sankey taking the top spot with 32 points.
Work on the new paths has now been completed so the course is back to its usual length and once the grass grows round the paths, the effect will be really good.  Congratulations to Oliva Nova for all their work!
“With the new Covid restrictions we are indebted to Oliva Nova for keeping the club house open whilst enforcing the new rules with no more than six to a table and the correct space between the tables,” Pego Golf Society said.
Pego Society meet every Tuesday at Oliva Nova golf club, and readers who would like to play or join should email Penny Barden at pegohandicapsec@gmail.com or contact the https://pego.golf-club website.
