Queen returns to Windsor Castle ahead of 2nd lockdown

Queen Elizabeth, 94, and the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, have returned to Windsor Castle ahead of England’s second national lockdown.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed the couple travelled from the Sandringham Estate to Berkshire together today, Monday, November 2.

A month-long lockdown begins on November 5.

Philip has been in sanctuary at his Wood Farm cottage on the Sandringham estate for the last few weeks while the Queen returned to Windsor at the beginning of October.

The couple celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary on November 20.

Yesterday (November 1) Prince William revealed his own coronavirus battle after months of secrecy.
