Russian “Sausage King” killed with a crossbow

Russian oligarch Vladimir Marugov, nicknamed The Sausage King, has been murdered with a crossbow, according to an investigation.

Marugov was with his partner, who managed to escape through the window and alert police, in an outdoor sauna at his countryside estate when they were attacked by two masked assailants, according to reports.

The body of the Russian Sausage King, who owned some of Russia’s largest meat-processing plants, was found by detectives next to the crossbow that killed him.

The attack occurred early on Monday, November 2, at the estate located around 40km (25 miles) outside the capital, Moscow, leaving the owner of the Ozyorsky and Meat Empire sausage factories dead.

According to a report from Russia’s Investigative Committee, the intruders demanded cash from Marugov, before fleeing in a car, which was later recovered on the outskirts of the town of Istra, outside Moscow.
