Paedophile, 84, Jailed for 18 Years

AN 84-year-old paedophile has been jailed for 18 years and was sentenced on Friday.

The 84-year-old is one of the oldest paedophiles in the UK to be jailed. The Metro reported that “Alan Styles, 84, groomed his three victims, who were all under the age of 12, by showering them with gifts. He then abused them and raped one of them over a four-year period between 2014 and 2018.”

The shocking crimes came to light after one on the victims attended Sex Education at school and then bravely told her mother what had been happening. The police were informed, and Styles has since been arrested and jailed. The police were able to find further victims due to the photographs that were found at his property when searched.

The Paedophile has been jailed for 18 years after initially denying the charges. The 84-year-old eventually admitted to the crimes after evidence including photos was presented against him. Styles was found in possession of over 600 indecent images.

Hannah Osborne, Detective Constable, commended the bravery of the victims, saying “It is due to the bravery of the victims we were able to ensure Styles has been put behind bars for a long time.”
