‘Jetman’ dies in training accident

‘JETMAN’ Vincent Reffet, 36, has died in a training accident in the desert in Dubai.

The Frenchman was part of team Jetman Dubai, famous for doing stunts wearing jetpacks.

Jetman Dubai did not elaborate in their statement how he died, but are said to be working closely with the authorities.

Reffet’s stunts, including jumping from the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828m), flying over the Alps or alongside a jumbo jet with a jetpack on his back, attracted amazed viewers from all over the world.

“Vince was a talented athlete, and a much-loved and respected member of our team,” the statement from Jetman Dubai said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who knew and worked with him.”

He had also won gold medals competing as a free-flying skydiver and was sponsored by Red Bull. His parents were also skydivers.
