Mortician’s Assistant Arrested for Necrophilia

A MORTICIAN’S assistant in Bangladesh has been arrested for allegedly having sex with female corpses in his workplace.

Munna Vhakta was arrested on Thursday when police matched his DNA to evidence found on corpses that had been violated at the Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. The 20-year-old had been working as an assistant to his uncle, Jatan Kumar, at the hospital’s morgue for the last two years. His alleged crimes stretch from March 2019 to last August.

The Dhaka police labeled the crime as ‘disgusting’, with superintendent Jisan Ul Haque saying that they’d connected Vhakta to necrophilia after reports of corpses were being violated in the morgue. They discovered that all DNA samples from the bodies were from a single source, and that the mortician’s assistant was working on the nights where the offenses are believed to have occurred.
