The NHS Wants Every Person in England ‘ Covid-19 vaccinated by April’

THE NHS plans to have every person in England ‘ Covid-19 vaccinated by April’.

The NHS wants every adult in England vaccinated against coronavirus by early April. Under plans reported over the weekend, there would be 88.5 million vaccination doses delivered across England, with two doses per person over the age of 18, by the end of April.

A leaked document reportedly reveals plans for “community mass vaccination sites” and states that there is a huge capacity to administer doses with the biggest total, some 33.9million to carried out at the community sites. “Large scale vaccination centres” will be responsible for distributing 27.7m doses of the vaccine.”

There is expected to be 40-50 of these across England, spread across conference centres, stadiums and similar venues. It is reported that the coronavirus vaccine produced by Pfizer could be approved for distribution in the UK by the end of this week.

Regulators are about to start a formal appraisal of the vaccine created by Pfizer and BioNTech SE, with the NHS ready to administer doses to those most at risk from Covid-19. Last week the UK formally asked its medical regulator, the MHRA, to assess the suitability of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is one of two proven to be effective and now going through safety checks.

The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine has been in the news recently as it was announced the drug had shown a high efficacy rate after one-and-a-half doses- the Uk has ordered 100 million doses of the drug.
