ARSENAL player Joe Willock totalled his £140,000 Mercedes on the M25
Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock escaped miraculously unscathed after smashing his £140,000 Mercedes into a barrier on the M25 on Saturday, November 21 while on his way to training. The jeep barrelled through the railing on a slip road before crashing into bushes.
Willock missed his exit from the A1(M) motorway near South Mimms, Hertfordshire, just three miles from the Gunners training ground at London Colney.
A witness in the car behind Willock told The Daily Mail that when he approached the Mercedes jeep, the footballer was trying to reverse the car, but didn’t realise one of the wheels was missing.
“I said: ‘You went around the corner a bit fast,’ the witness reported.
“He said: ‘I know, I’m an idiot’. He said he was on his way to training, for Arsenal.
“He got out and said: ‘Do you think it’s a write off?’. I said: ‘I’m no expert, but I think so – you have half a tree in your front bumper’.”
