RATE REDUCTION IN FUENGIROLA

It’s a pretty tough time here in Costa del Sol Spain

COVID-19 Has had a particularly damming effect on Fuengirola, but there may be some respite for local business.

Fuengirola local council have decided to adopt measures to reduce the rate paid by local businesses up to 70 per cent.
Depending on the road or street that the business occupies.
This was decided at a plenary meeting yesterday November 25.

It is clear that the rates businesses pay are influenced by the size of land occupied but also where the business is located, and there can be a large difference in the tax due.

A drop of up to 70 per cent of the normal rate, depending on the location, could be made, thus helping businesses at what can only be described as the most difficult time.

Where a business occupies a public road, it must pay a local tax for the business being in that position, and therefore benefiting from it. There would be an opportunity for a reduction in that rate.

All local businesses working hard to stay open and continuing to provide their services will be grateful it is understood for any further help in reducing costs whilst restrictions are in place.
