COVID aid for autonomos of Granada will arrive at the end of January

The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced on Saturday, November 28, that Covid aid for small and medium-sized businesses and the self-employed (autonomos) in Granada will not arrive until the end of January 2021.

The region announced on Sunday that shops, bars and restaurants would be allowed to open in Granada until 6pm from Monday, November 30 in an ease on the restrictions introduced on November 10.

Moreno said that although aid has been made available for those whose businesses have suffered as a result of lockdown, “there is a complexity with this year’s accounting,” which closes in the coming weeks. Therefore, the forecast of the Andalucían Government is that the money will be available by the end of January.

“I am sorry that many freelancers and small businessmen have had to go through this nightmare but circumstances left us no alternative,” said Moreno.
