India exceeds 9.5 million cases although 9 million patients have recovered

INDIA, the second country worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic worldwide, exceeds 9.5 million cases although nearly 9 million patients have recovered.

The country has exceeded the barrier of 9.5 million cases after registering another 35,500 infections in the last 24 hours.

According to data from the India’s Ministry of Health, so far 9,534,964 people have contracted covid-19 in the country, of which 94.11 per cent, around 8.97 million, have reportedly overcome the virus.

The figures also show that there have sadly been another 526 deaths, which brings the total number of fatalities to 138,648 and places the mortality rate at 1.45 per cent.

With regards active cases, they remain below 500,000, at 422,943.
