Florida Man Shot in the Head by Toddler

A FLORIDA man is in critical condition after being shot in the head by a toddler.

The man was airlifted to the hospital from a home in Stuart, Florida, where the toddler had picked up the loaded gun from a tabletop. In a Facebook post, the city’s police confirmed that ‘On Saturday, Stuart Police Officers responded to an emergency call for service’.

‘When they arrived, it was discovered that an adult male was shot in the head. The victim was airlifted to a local trauma centre, where he is currently in critical condition.’ After investigating, police found that ‘a toddler in the home accidentally shot the male victim’.

‘Unfortunately, the loaded firearm was placed on a countertop that was within the child’s reach unsecured’. In 2020, 60 kids aged 3 or undershot themselves or another person with ‘improperly stored’ firearms. Last month a 21-year old Iowa mother was hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after her 2-year-old shot her with a gun left on a bedside table.
