Mystery Surrounding Missing Brit Hiker Deepens

MYSTERY surrounding missing Brit hiker Esther Dingley, who disappeared in the Pyrenees in November, deepens as leading officer says an accident is ‘not credible’

Thirty-seven-year-old Esther Dingley disappeared on a trek in the Pyrenees with her boyfriend Daniel Colegate on November 25. Despite extensive searches involving dogs and experts on the ground, as well as air crews in helicopters, Esther hasn’t been spotted.

Captain Bordinaro, the officer leading the French part of the investigation claimed that Esther’s personal life wasn’t as perfect as social media posts made it appear.

“We interviewed Daniel Colegate at the farmhouse where he is living in the Gers department on Monday.

“We want to investigate all possibilities. We do not rule any line of inquiry.

“But it does not seem probable that Esther suffered an accident, and it is not credible that she was eaten by a bear or that she has fallen into a lake.”

After speaking with Esther’s partner, he added: “It appears that their lives together were not as happy as the images posted on social media suggest.”

Captain Bordinaro confirmed that he believes that Esther’s disappearance is either the result of an accident or “as a result of someone else’s actions.”
