EVACUATION as fire breaks out in Castro De Los Filabres in Almeria. The Guardia Civil have evacuated one house after the fire started.

The fire broke out on Monday morning (February 1) and Guardia civil had to evacuate a person from a farmhouse in the Castro de los Filabres.  The fire broke out between the municipal districts of Castro de los Filabres and Olula de Castro. Some 70 plus firefighters set out to control the fire that has required air support.

According to Europa Press Emergency Services 112 Andalucia confirmed that they had had to cut the access to the area of Castro de los Filabres to stop town residents from accessing their farmhouses and orchards until the fire can be controlled. The small town only has 190 inhabitants, but the AL-4406 has so far remained open as firefighters work on controlling the fire.

The fire has arisen in the Huerta Iglesia area and the weather conditions have made it harder to fight the fire due to the area being on an amber alert. Air support has been called in to help extinguish the flames.

Andalusia has been struggling with fires lately and over 30 emergency workers from the Plan to Fight Forest Fires of the Community of Andalucia (Infoca Plan) battled to fight a fire in the municipality of Juviles in Granada on Sunday morning (January 31).
