ANDALUCIAN president says we have ‘cause to hope’ as cases in the Community continue to decline
The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has sent a bittersweet message on Twitter on Friday morning, February 5, reminding citizens that while the situation is slowly but surely improving, extreme caution is still required. The president stated that while there has been a drop in hospital admissions, giving everyone a “cause for hope,” hospitalisations are still higher than they should be.
“Every drop in the number of patients admitted is cause for hope, but we cannot relax because the number of hospitalizations continues to be high. We have to persevere, cutting the chain of infections is the guarantee to bend the curve,” Mr Moreno wrote.
His message comes on the same day the Andalucían Community saw its third consecutive decrease in the number of hospitalisations, after more than a month of daily increases.
Coronavirus infections continue to drop throughout the Costa del Sol, with both Marbella and Malaga City registering a decrease in recent days.
On Thursday, February 4, the president warned people to keep their “guard up” as experts have suggested that: “we could enter a see-saw stage in which the incidence goes down and up in the coming days.”
“Let’s keep our guard up. We will overcome the peak of the third wave when contagions fall steadily,” Mr Moreno added.
