Business Group Proposes Travel Voucher To Boost Tourism in Spain Image: Wikipedia
BUSINESS GROUP proposes travel voucher to boost tourism throughout all of Spain Business lobby group Exceltur, which looks after many of the big Spanish tourism companies such as the Balearia shipping company and Benidorm hotel chain Servigroup, has sent a report to the Valencian Community’s Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroro, making a series of demands to help improve the tourism industry this summer. One of the suggestions is that the government issues travel vouchers similar to those available for destinations in Alicante, Castellon and Valencia, but that they be extended to include trips throughout the whole of Spain. Exceltur has estimated that an initiative of this size would require an investment by the regional government of somewhere in the region of €264 million, but that such an endeavour could generate €4,000 million in income and potentially create 30,000 additional jobs. The national voucher would be independent from the Imserso programme and would benefit all age profiles of tourists. The request comes after president of the Central Government in Spain, Pedro Sanchez, announced an €11 billion aid fund to support tourism, hospitality and small businesses. Speaking at the Congress on Wednesday, February 24, Mr Sanchez said that these resources will seek to “strengthen the solvency of the balance sheets,” facilitate the return of the sectors’ activity, and allow for “the necessary investments” to be made for the hiring of workers. _________________________________________________________________ Thank you for taking the time to read this news article “Business Group Proposes Travel Voucher To Boost Tourism in Spain”.
