Additional aid agreed for new hospitality sectors in Mallorca

AN amendment has been made to expand the financial support given to businesses in Mallorca suffering from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Balearic Government with the support of the Consell Insular de Mallorca has expanded the type of businesses eligible to receive support and a €3,000 grant to include the following;

  1. Trade fairs (gardens and amusement parks, amusement and water parks, skating rinks, retail trade and catering services of fairs and festivals)
  2. Event organisers (congresses, weddings and sports shows)

The Aid Plan agreed by the Government, the island councils, the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands and economic, social and political agents, budgets for an eventual spend of €110 million of which €60 million will initially be allocated to direct aid to the sectors affected.
