A MOROCCAN man, aged 43, who was wanted for illegal drug trafficking was arrested in Ronda, Malaga, when he went to the police station to sort out some paperwork.

The fugitive had gone to the police station to process a resident permit as a relative of a citizen of the European Union.
When the National Police identified him, they found that he had used up to four different identities, and that for one of them there was an International Arrest Warrant pending against him issued by the Moroccan authorities. He was wanted for his alleged involvement with a criminal network in Morocco dedicated to drugs smuggling which had been dismantled in 2003.
He had been on the run from the authorities for an undisclosed amount of time and it has not been revealed how long he has been living in Spain.
He has been made available to the courts who will forward his information to the national court to process his extradition back to Morocco to respond for the crimes with which he has been charged.
