A WOMAN, 51, was stabbed by her former partner in Massamagrell, Valencia, and her neighbours and co-worker managed to prevent him from killing her.

A 53-year-old man has been arrested for her attempted murder and was also injured.
The attack took place at 8.15am in Calle Tirant lo Blanc, coinciding with International Women’s Day, and it appears there were no prior reports of abuse in the couple.
Residents in the area separated them after the man, a lawyer resident in Turis, stabbed his former partner at least seven times.
The woman was in the car with a co-worker at the time of the attack, as they share the vehicle to travel to Valencia, and he was the first to prevent the attack.
One of the tyres on the woman’s car had been completely deflated on purpose.
The woman was taken to Valencia Clinic Hospital for treatment and her prognosis is reserved.
During the attack, residents used several objects to fight off the attacker, who was taken by ambulance to the same hospital as the victim. He is now in the custody of the Guardia Civil.
An investigation has been opened into the attack.
The President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, expressed his “deep sadness” over the attack on his Twitter account and condemned that barbarism that he said makes Women’s Day and feminism necessary.
