Aer Lingus Begins Recruitment For Manchester Base
AER LINGUS begins recruitment for new UK-US operations at its Manchester base
At a time when the travel industry is at its knees and many airlines are announcing cut-backs, Irish carrier Aer Lingus has given the welcome news that it is recruiting staff for its base in Manchester as it pushes ahead with a new UK-US operation.
Working with Nobox HR Outsourcing Solutions, the company which usually hires newly-qualified staff is this time recruiting “talented and passionate cabin crew” to be part of the new direct UK to US travel line, and applicants must have “12 months combined experience in a face-to-face customer service/sales role.”
At the end of 2020, the US Department of Transportation (DOT) gave Aer Lingus the go-ahead to operate its transatlantic flights, and it is reported that the company plans to use its Airbus A321LR aircraft for these new journeys. According to Simply Flying, the destinations Aer Lingus is hoping to serve from Manchester are thought to be Boston, New York, and Orlando, with the latter two routes putting the carrier in direct competition with global giant Virgin Atlantic.
According to the company’s job listing:
“Aer Lingus has recently announced the opening of a new base in Manchester for 2021. To help us operate from our new base, we are looking to hire talented and passionate Cabin Crew with positions available in Manchester commencing in Summer 2021.”
