NERJA Council has congratulated an athlete on being given an award by the Provincial Council.


The council congratulated the Nerja athlete after she was given the award by the Provincial Council.
Nerja athlete Angela Lobato, has been awarded, at the proposal of the council, the Recognised 2021 award, granted by Malaga Provincial Council to women and entities that individually or in groups play a key role in the history of the municipalities of the province for equality.
Last week, the mayor of Nerja, Jose Alberto Armijo, held a meeting with the athlete in the Town Hall, accompanied by the Councillor for Equality, Gema Laguna, and the Councillor for Sports, Daniel Rivas, during which the councillor congratulated the winner on behalf of the council, saying, “this new award comes to recognise and confirm her great sporting career, full of successes in beach volleyball.”
He also thanked the Malaga Provincial Council, as well as the Equality Deputy, Lourdes Piña, and the members of the jury who voted for the candidate presented by Nerja.
Ms Lobato thanked Nerja council for putting her forward, saying she was very happy to receive a message from the mayor informing her and congratulating her on this recognition.
The athlete has held various national and international titles.
