NIJAR will soon have a fire station of its own.
The agreement signed between Nijar’s mayor Esperanza Perez and Rosmari Cano – President of the  Levante Consortium of Fire Brigades as well as Mojacar mayor – has given the go-ahead to an installation in the Campohermosa district.
“Thanks to this agreement, Nijar can have a service that will be on call for Nijar residents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” declared Javier Aureliano Garcia, president of the Diputacion provincial council.
Garcia went on to thank both Perez and Canio for understanding the importance of signing an agreement that would benefit more 31,000 residents in the area, while cutting response times from 44 to 20 minutes in outlying San Jose or as far away as Carboneras.
