Chef to the Royals to run new Luxury Country Club in Cambridgeshire

Celebrity Master Chef Steven Saunders well known for cooking for the Royals and for appearing on popular TV shows like Ready Steady Cook signed a lease deal today to operate all the Food & Beverage outlets at the new, spectacular multi million pound leisure complex, Cambridge Country Club (Previously Bourn Golf & Country Club.)

Chef Steven Saunders and his wife Michele Harper Saunders owned and ran the internationally acclaimed Little Geranium Restaurants in Spain. They won a plethora of awards from Best Fine Dining to Best International Restaurant in Spain 2020 putting them in the top 100 restaurants in the world. They have returned to the UK  to launch their award winning Geranium brand somewhere in the Cambridge area and have found their perfect partners!

Chef Saunders previously owned the The Pink Geranium Melbourn near Cambridge, named as one of Prince Charles´ favourite restaurants before it was sold as a house a few years ago. The Chef has cooked many times for the Royals, Princess Diana, Prince Charles & Camilla and for Her Majesty The Queen when she opened Steven Saunders Restaurant at The Lowry in Salford Quays in 2000    (a Millennium project.)  Chef Saunders is well known for owning a compny that operated VIP hospitality for Formula 1 and Silverstone and often cooked specifically for Prince Harry and William, when the two Prince´s used to race & watch racing together.

The huge 43,000 square foot golf complex will open early June with a grand launch party scheduled for July. It will include well-known celebrities, the Mayor of London, dignitaries, friends, clients and regional business people.

The stunning new clubs facilities will include a luxury wellness center and Elemis spa, a state of the art gym with personal trainers, a Himalayan salt spa, saunas and steam rooms, a barbers, a pro golf shop including other retail with designer brands such as Boss and Ralph Lauren. The club will also have its own skin care center operated by Dr. Sunil Chopra one of the UK´s leading Dermatologists (from TV show Embarrassing Bodies) as well as stylish themed bars with mixologists.  It has stunning conference & events rooms, a unique golfing restaurant with panoramic views of the golf course and stylish wedding facilities including a mini Stonehenge for the ultimate fairytale wedding within the 200 acres of landscaped grounds. Gourmet Wedding day packages have been created by Chef Saunders who promises the ultimate luxury VIP wedding!

The complex also has two pools with a training program for children to learn how to swim and a secondary spa pool with relaxing luxury loungers.

The clubs Director Louise Rody says… We are very excited to finally be opening.  We aim to be a center of excellence, sensibly priced and offering a complete luxury experience. We all need a taste of luxury especially after being locked down for so long and it is our intention to be the ultimate go to destination to meet, shop, eat, drink, have fun & relax in our new elegant surroundings. Having Chef Steven Saunders who is one of only 30 Fellow Master Chefs in the UK with his wife Michele to launch a Geranium themed restaurant as well as operate all the Food and Beverage here at the club is a real feather in our caps. We have many exciting plans for our golfers and for our non-golfers, everyone is welcome!  Apart from our beautiful golf course we have a luxury restaurant, an amazing gym, trendy cocktail bars, casual dining, along with our wellness center & Elemis spa.  We are very excited about bringing a little bit of London to Cambridge!
