Local police in Malaga have identified a man who drove through Malaga with a friend on the car bonnet and then posted the video on Instagram. The footage is only a few seconds long but long enough for police to manage to identify the criminals.
The video footage shows a man driving for several meters with someone, presumably a friend, on the bonnet of the car. A third person who can be heard laughing recorded the video and published it on the ‘story’ of an Instagram account. The ‘stories’ section of Instagram is automatically deleted within 24 hours of being published.
One officer of the cyber patrol of the Local Malaga Police, consisting of agents who prosecute this type of crime, saw the video.
The profile in which the video was published belongs to a young recidivist, who has already been arrested and reported for different crimes (against road safety, in addition to slander and insults to law enforcement officers).
The officers were able to fully identify the driver of the car, a 19-year-old man born in Granada but residing in Malaga. The man was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office by the Accident and Attestated Investigation Group, for a possible crime against road safety for reckless driving.
Considering other cases in which a person has been convicted of driving with someone on a part of the vehicle, such as the bonnet or trunk, the penalties can end up being four months in prison and more than a driving ban of one year.
