MARIA IVORRA, a 12-year-old from Alfaz is a finalist in the regional phase of the 31st Mathematics Olympiad. She felt “proud, surprised and very happy,” said Maria, who is her last year at Alfaz’s Santisimo Cristo del Buen Acierto primary school. “ I love solving problems, I really enjoy it,” she explained to Alfaz’s mayor Vicente Arques during a recent visit to the town hall. “You don’t need to memorise anything, you just need to pay attention. It’s a question of logic,” Maria said.
