The renovation of the Children’s Park of La Muralla is one step away from being a reality.

THE renovation of the Children’s Park of La Muralla is one step away from being a reality. As announced by the councillors of Contracting and Parks and Gardens, Roy Perez and Laura Moreno, respectively, the contract has already been formalised that will allow the comprehensive reform of this area of Mijas Pueblo.
“The park will be remodelled with the installation of a playground with new games, as well as the renovation of the rubber cushioning to thus give a new utility to this characteristic park,” details the mayor of Contracting, Roy Perez.
“It was a commitment of the mayor and this government team to renovate this park that for many years has been patched but it was time for a comprehensive remodelling,” says Perez, who recalls that the project has a value of €153,000 and a lead time of two months.
The mayor of Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno, has stressed the importance of this unique park in the enclave of Mijas Pueblo “is in the same condition as other parks in La Cala or Las Lagunas.” According to Moreno, this park will have a “special theme, when they enter it they will find white houses and flower pots, towers, donkeys, horse carriages, it is very important that we keep our identity as a people and that we show our identity to the neighbours of other towns that visit us, where we come from and what our history is.”
The Contracting Area continues to focus on improving specific areas of the municipality, and anticipate that “there are many contracts pending award. We are working on different supply and service contracts that this council needs and little by little we will announce new developments that will benefit the municipality.”
