Britain Hotter Than Spain As Rain Makes Way For Week Of Sizzling 26C Sun.

Hotter than in Barcelona, Nice or Madeira- temperatures in London, the South East and East Anglia could hit 26C today after a wet Friday for many areas of the UK.

The MET office has forecast dry, sunny weather which is set to return this weekend for most areas of the UK with temperatures tipped to soar back to 26C – making it hotter than parts of Spain.

As sun-starved Brits face travel chaos with few destinations now left on the green list, some hotter weather at home will at least be some consolation with a sunny week ahead for most.

Heavy showers blighted Friday, June 4, in the south of England but that is set to fade away by Saturday morning to be replaced by more sunshine.

Washed-out May

Last week, the mercury nudged close to 30C as the temperature record for 2021 was broken three days running as Brits got their first sustained taste of summer following a washout May.

But there were downpours in East Anglia and the southeast of England on Friday, which saw temperatures plummet to around 13C in some areas for the end of half-term.
