GRANADA Youth Arrested For Being In Possession Of Illegal Weapons

Guardia Civil officers have arrested a 20-year-old individual – with no previous police record – in the Granada municipality of Íllora, charged with the suspected possession of illegal weapons, after they found he had an unmarked 9mm pistol without a serial number, after it had clearly been erased.

The arrest happened in the early hours of Friday 4, after neighbours called the police to report four individuals who were threatening another person with weapons on Calle Diego de Siloé de Íllora, with a local patrol from the Montefrío Guardia Civil – that was in the neighbourhood – responding to the call, and heading to the reported location.
Upon arrival, the officers saw two individuals running away, one of them possibly the person who was being threatened, and four other people who immediately got into a car, which the police stopped, and identified the occupants as two males, and two females, and also one of the females had a baby with her, according to granadadigital.es.
A search of the vehicle uncovered the pistol hidden in the pocket of the car seat, along with two kitchen knives, a set of pruning shears, and stashed under the driver’s seat, approximately 5 grams of a psychotropic substance, possibly cocaine, wrapped in a cloth.
None of the individuals would admit to being the owner of the pistol, which was duly confiscated, and the Granada youth, the owner of the vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of possessing an illegal weapon.
The person who was being threatened at the time of the incident has not come forward, and the pistol has been sent to the Guardia Civil crime laboratory for forensic analysis.
