Hit the Beach in Fuengirola As The Blue Flags Fly.
COME and hit the beach and enjoy a fabulous day out in Fuengirola as the blue flags fly on all of the town’s beaches.
For the second year running the blue flags which are international awards have accredited the stunning beaches of Carvajal, Los Boliches-Las Gaviotas, Fuengirola and El Castillo in Fuengirola. The blue flag awards not only highlight the services available on the beach but also the accessibility, environmental management and the water properties too.
Four blue flags have been hoisted in Fuengirola and they certified the quality of services available along the coastline on which the city boasts four stunning beaches.
Fuengirola’s Mayor Ana Mula hoisted these flags along with the president of the Spanish Federation of Beach Businesses, Norberto del Castillo, the chief intendant of the Local Police, Antonio Hernández, and the coordinator of the Rescue and Lifeguard service, Óscar Porras.
The hoisting ceremony took place on the San Francisco beach and this is the second year Fuengirola has been able to boast that all of the beaches have these international distinctions.
Speaking of the event the councillor commented that: “It is a very special and happy day. One hundred per cent of our beaches once again have the highest possible international recognition in terms of quality.
“I want to thank the great beach family, made up of the town hall, its workers, the sector’s entrepreneurs, lifeguards and the users themselves, because it is thanks to them that Fuengirola can boast of having all our coastline with Blue Flags.
“It is especially meritorious because it is an independent body that evaluates our work and awards them. So we are very proud and satisfied.”
The Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) awarded these distinctions to the four beaches in Fuengirola last month. The beaches are El Castillo, Fuengirola, Los Boliches-Las Gaviotas and Carvajal.
