Local Police Vehicle Fleet Increased In Nerja.
THE town hall has invested in increasing the number of vehicles available to Nerja’s Local Police.
The Nerja Town Hall has shown their commitment to Local Policing and providing them with more resources in the form of new vehicles. The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo has announced that the Local Police force now has two new 350cc scooters. The town hall has invested over €15,000 of their own resources.
The announcement was made at the police headquarters and the mayor was accompanied by the councillor for Security and Transport, Francisco Arce, the Chief of the Local Police, Francisco Iranzo, and the officer José Francisco Losada.
The mayor, speaking of the new bikes commented that: “with these two new motorbikes there are now four vehicles that we have acquired since the beginning of the mandate, fulfilling the commitment to increase the fleet and provide better means to the Local Police, which results in a better service and greater security for our residents and visitors.”
The councillor for Security and Transport, Francisco Arce, hopes that in the future the Local Police will also be able to benefit from “two new SUV type vehicles.”
According to the town hall they will soon be “completely renewing the uniforms, accessories and protective equipment” of the Local Police in a bid to “meet the needs of our officers, as no such renewal has been carried out for more than 10 years.”
