Rincón de la Victoria inaugurates an exhibition on the fifth Centennial Tour around the World Magallanes-Elcano.
The Casa Fuerte Bezmiliana Exhibition Hall in Rincón de la Victoria is hosting the exhibition on the fifth Centenary of the First Magellan-Elcano Round the World Race, as announced by the councillor for Culture, Clara Perles (Cs).

It is an exhibition “that commemorates the historic feat of the round-the-world voyage by five ships that left Sevilla on August 10, 1519 and allows visitors to rediscover our history and learn about Magellan and Elcano’s voyage to the spice industry, which became the first round-the-world voyage in history.”
The exhibition presents a total of 25 panels, six historical models and two Phoenician javegas. As the curator and author of the exhibition, Diego Estrada, explained, “the spectator can learn about the 13 stages from a very didactic point of view, as it is a very complete exhibition with explanatory panels about this historic event, as well as scale reproductions of vessels.”
The exhibition can be visited free of charge until July 15 from Tuesday to Saturday from 11.30am to 1.00pm and from 6.30pm to 10.00pm. On Sundays, from 11.30am to 1.00pm at La Casa Fuerte de Bezmiliana, Avenida del Mediterráneo 149, Rincón de la Victoria.
In conjunction with this exhibition, the area has organised a variety of activities, including a dramatised visit by the Storytelling Mistress which will take place on June 19 at 8pm, with Storytelling in the gardens of the Casa Fuerte ‘El fantasmas del sack en su primer viaje a la luz’ by prior reservation; and a dramatised Escape Room: a round-the-world race against the clock on June 25, July 3 and July 9.
The Royal Spanish Naval League, Malaga delegation, the National Union of University Militis, Malaga delegation, and the Naval Command have sponsored this exhibition.
