Mallorca property sales increase among foreign buyers

More than four million international tourists visited Spain in July

THE number of foreigners buying property in Mallorca has increased this year.

The Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, have seen the number of foreigners buying property this year increase to 29.8 per cent.
Foreign buyers purchased 13,600 properties between April and June, with the British and Germans, the biggest buyers.
At the national level, operations rose 10 per cent with the British the foreigners who buy more homes in Spain, representing 9.5 per cent, followed by Germans at 9 per cent, and Moroccans at 8.3 per cent.
The most purchases by foreigners were on the Balearic Islands, followed by the Canary Islands at 23.9 per cent, and the Valencian Community at 19.5 per cent.
The highest average property prices were located in Madrid, the Basque Country, the Balearic Islands, and Cataluña at €2,268.
Between April and June, 137,204 home sales were registered, with an increase of 8.7 per cent compared to the previous year.
The news comes after it was revealed that some of Spain’s most expensive properties are on Mallorca, with Malaga also having some of the most expensive properties in Spain.
Many of Spain’s most expensive properties were shown to be in Marbella.
