Social Welfare and ASALBEZ have come together to commemorate Alzheimer’s Day with a series of actions dedicated to raising awareness about the disease.

Today, September 21, Social Welfare and ASALBEZ will publish an updated manifesto and activities will be held to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
On Thursday, September 30, the town hall will also host a talk on the effect of Alzheimer’s on caregivers. The talk will be held at 7pm and, with limited capacity, spaces can be reserved by email to: info@asalbez.es or telephone: 610 620 106.
Regarding the programming of activities, a photographic exhibition of Melissa Diago Delgado titled ‘So that we do not fall into oblivion’ has opened in the courtyard of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Council, which takes a tour of moments and memories lived by patients and family members of the ASALBEZ.
The second deputy mayor and councillor of the area, Elena Aguilar (Cs), has made a manifesto with ASALBEZ highlighting “the need to continue researching on Alzheimer’s disease and detect in advance the cases that help us prevent the risk of suffering from Alzheimer’s in the future”.
In addition, the president of ASALBEZ, María Jesús Román, has said that it is necessary “to show the value and importance of an early and accurate diagnosis, support for biomedical, social and socio-health research, in addition to the rights, ethics and dignity of the people affected by any type of abuse ”.
The councillor maintains a direct collaboration with the Asalbez Association, through its president and members of the group, to establish and develop joint lines of work to improve the service and quality of life of its users and their families. Also, Social Welfare grants an annual subsidy of €15,000 euros to the association.
