ALMERIA’s Railway Defence association questioned claims that work on the Almeria-Murcia AVE high speed train was on schedule.
Members visiting the section nearest the capital saw neither workmen nor machinery, they said recently.
Nothing suggested that work had started on the complex section requiring a 900-metre tunnel and a 1,400 viaduct between Nijar and the River Andrax, they added.
The association has now asked to meet the president of Spain’s track operator, Adif, members told the Spanish media: “Let’s see what she has to say.”
