Bakery giant Greggs to open drive thru bakeries in the UK. Many fans are delighted at the news that drive thru Greggs bakeries could soon be heading their way.

Greggs announced that they plan on opening a series of drive thrus in the UK. Many people do not know that the company opened their first drive thru back in 2017.

Greggs currently have more than 2000 stores. The company are planning on opening up more branches as drive thrus. According to reports, various councils have already seen plans submitted.

Greggs fans in Yorkshire, Slough, Kent and Stoke-on-Trent can expect drive thrus to be coming their way. The company opened drive thrus in Cumbria and Wales earlier this year.

Greggs took to Twitter to make the official announcement. Fans were delighted at the news. Greggs commented: “Sorry I’m late, the traffic was crazy…” They teased fans with a photo of a drive thru lane.

Many fans joined in with comments. One user said: “I’ll have 16 steak bakes, 16 corned beef pasties and a bottle of oasis.”

Another Greggs fan commented: “If you could have these in London I’d have to marry you.”

One person said they would move heaven and earth to get hold of a Greggs. They said: “Where is this I’ll move heaven and earth for a drive thru that’s nearby?”

According to The Irish Times, the company plans to open multiple drive thrus each year. The company hope to expand post-Covid.

Roger Whiteside, Chief executive explained: “We are actively pursuing every drive thru we can find, but so is everybody else so they’re very competitive to get a hold of.”
