Motorists have been transferred to hospital after collision

A collision between a motorcycle and a passenger car in Almeria left two people injured and needing hospitalisation this Saturday afternoon. The impact happened on the Avenida del Mediterraneo road near the National Police Station. Two people were riding on the motorcycle and the Andalusian Emergency Service 112 has confirmed these are the casualties taken to Torrecardenas University Hospital. The severity of their injuries is not known. The passengers in the car did not need to go to the hospital and were cared for at the scene.  

The accident was called into 112 by people who were walking past as it occurred. According to witnesses, the motorcycle hit the car from the back causing the riders’ injuries although they were not trapped. Local police and ambulance services were dispatched to the scene. The health service transferred the riders away while the police stayed on to regulate the vehicle flow. The site of the traffic accident in Almeria city is a very busy road all throughout the day which poses a problem to the officers trying to keep the road clear.
