Crocodile drags young girl away as friends watch, unable to help. The girl had been swimming with her friends in a river in Indonesia.
Suci Ramadhani was only eight years old when the tragic attack happened. She was swallowed by a crocodile on the Indonesian island of Buru.
Locals rushed to help. They used spears to stab the crocodile.
The young girl was killed by the crocodile. Her family and friends watched on in horror. They had been enjoying a swimming trip before the tragedy occurred.
Suci’s friends were close by when the crocodile grabbed her. It then dragged her away. They were unable to help.
Korpos Rahmad Namlea is an official with the search and rescue team. He explained how locals had managed to attack the crocodile with spears. As locals attacked the crocodile the young girl’s head reportedly could be seen in the crocodile’s mouth.
The crocodile was captured and killed in an attempt to rescue the girl. When they cut into the stomach the girl was not inside.
The remains of Suci were discovered two days later.
Namlea commented: “The river is known to be infested with saltwater crocodiles.
“At least two crocodile attacks have occurred in the past 10 years.”
In July 2018, 300 crocodiles were slaughtered in a revenge attack. A man had been eaten in West Papau, prompting locals in Indonesia to take their revenge.
