Nerja Council continues to make progress in the processing of the cycle lane connecting Nerja and Maro.

Nerja Town Council continues to make progress in the processing of the cycle lane project that will connect Nerja and Maro.
Mayor Jose Alberto Armijo approved the decree to start the procedure for the construction of the Via Ciclable 1, in its phase 1.2, with a tender budget of €417,577.80.
The councillor has also given instructions to draw up the corresponding list of specific administrative clauses that will govern the hiring.
Regarding this phase of the project, the section of the cycle lane to be constructed will run through the urban area, between the access roundabout to Burriana beach, on Avda. De Ciudad de Pescia, to the roundabout of the Oasis de Capistrano urbanisation.
It will be approximately 900 metres in length.
Jose Alberto Armijo has underlined the importance of this project: “It is a commitment that we outline in our Government Programme, with which we intend to reinforce the safety of cyclists and pedestrians, as well as promoting the use of transport without emissions to the environment and cycling as a sport.”
This action is included in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and is part of the Sustainable and Integrated Development Strategy “EDUSI de Nerja.”
It will be 80 per cent co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and 20 per cent with municipal resources.
