Mijas is holding a walk-in vaccination centre at the La Cala de Mijas fairgrounds until October 22.

The mayor of health for Mijas, Maria del Carmen Gonzalez, announced that there will be a walk-in vaccination against COVID-19 at the La Cala de Mijas fairgrounds until October 22.
She said: “It is about facilitating as far as possible to reach that part of the population that, although it is not much, is still pending vaccination.”
“Everything that has been needed has been provided and, as of today, we are going to give it the widest possible diffusion.”
All those born in 2009 or before and who have not yet been vaccinated can attend without an appointment from 10:30am to 2:30pm, or in the afternoon from 4pm to 7pm to receive the vaccination (Pfizer or Moderna).
It should be noted that minors between 12 and 15 years old, both ages included, must be accompanied by a father, mother or guardian.
“Anyone who is from the Andalucian autonomous community who passes by the mobile unit and has not been vaccinated can enter and do so,” says Gonzalez.
Mijas has 35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants at the moment, so it will go to level 0 and the restrictions in the town will be eliminated.
“We encourage those people who have not yet been able or who have doubts about whether to get vaccinated to not hesitate, it is something that we are proving to be effective and right now it is the most powerful weapon we have against this situation”, concludes the councillor.
