Crisp crisis! Wotsits, Quavers and ready-salted Walkers could run out and be out of stock for weeks.

Stocks of people’s favourite crisps could be hard to find over Christmas. The Leicester-based crisp manufacturer has suffered from an IT glitch. This means that the supply of Wotsits, Quavers and ready-salted Walkers will be disrupted.

The company has boosted the production of other popular flavours. This is said to include salt and vinegar and cheese and onion crisps.

Speaking to The MailOnline a spokesperson for Walkers said: “A recent IT system upgrade has disrupted the supply of some of our products. Our sites are still making crisps and snacks but at a reduced scale.

“We’re doing everything we can to increase production and get people’s favourites back on shelves. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

The UK is facing other issues this Christmas due to the lack of lorry drivers and supply chain issues. People in the UK have already been warned to get their Turkey bookings in early in order to avoid disappointment over Christmas. Parents have been advised to shop early for Christmas presents too as supplies could also be hit.
